Sharon studied Psychology at the University of Leicester, attaining a Bachelor of Science Degree with Honours in Psychology with Sociology in 2001. She later went on to achieve a Master of Science Degree in Applied Forensic Psychology in 2007 at the University of York; well known for housing one of the most prestigious and highly regarded Psychology Departments in the country. Prior to her work within a custodial setting, Sharon gained considerable experience working in a range of clinical inpatient and community settings, assessing and treating a range of adults who presented with psychological problems and mental health issues.
Sharon has gained considerable experience assessing and treating offenders within a custodial setting, spending almost four years working as a Forensic Psychologist for Her Majesty's Prison Service. She has gained much of her expertise working with offenders who present with psychopathic traits and personality disorder, spending almost two years working on a high security 'Dangerous and Severe Personality Disorder' (DSPD) unit, where she undertook a full range of psychological assessments and treatments.
Sharon joined Psychological Services UK Ltd in November 2008 and now holds the position of Assistant Clinical Lead. She also heads up our mentoring service - managing a team of psychologist mentors to provide support and supervision to our associates - and takes the lead on the provision of staff support services for HMP Bronzefield (Sodexo Justice Services). Sharon has led on numerous consultancy projects during her time with PSUK and continues to develop our services in the areas of associate wellbeing, quality assurance and safe report disclosure.
Sharon is a full member of the British Psychological Society and an HCPC Registered Practitioner Psychologist.
